Chapter Twenty Two - Finally

Zac couldn't believe how Mia had just acted, he knew she had never liked Ruby but to make up such a vicious lie was completely not like Mia. But she had shown her 'proof' but no, Ruby may have just liked Robyn's music and was interested in her's and Mia's lives, it was never boring that was for sure. Even though he was angry at her, he couldn't help bit notice how cute Mia looked, he saw the hurt look on her face when he started shouted and remembered the feeling of wanting to hold her tightly. He thought he needed to talk to Ruby about this, even though there was probably a valid reason for this but something was niggling at the back of his mind, he heard the front door open but Ruby had already bolted up the stairs before he said,
"Ruby! I need to talk to you!' Without looking down she just replied,
"I've had a long day, I'm going to chill and have a long bath and then we can talk" going into her room Zac wondered why she was in such a hurry, he headed up the stairs and as he was coming up to the floor their bedroom was on he heard Ruby's voice from the other side of the door. He couldn't make out what she was saying but he heard her footsteps coming towards the door, he sprinted halfway down the stairs and made it look like he was just coming up when he said,
"You alright up there?
"Er, yeahh, fine, just off to have a bath" she said walking down past him and going into the bathroom. He looked around their bedroom but noticed nothing out of the ordinary, what was he expecting to find anyway? A big sign saying 'I want to ruin Robyn's and Mia's life'. He noticed the apple screen saver was running on their mac so he sat by the desk and gently brushed his finger across the mouse pad, there, on the screen was a pale red head starring back at him. He wondered if she could see him so waved at the camera like a lunatic but nothing, just starred blankly, but there was something not right with her, she had an evil look in her eyes. He figured he better get off before Ruby came back and started going on one of her usual mad rants about respecting her privacy, something she was very into, she was very secretive and if Zac ever questioned this she would just use the excuse that he needed to respect her privacy. He was about to get up when he was captivated with what the red head had just typed 'Ruby, you there? I need to make sure you still now how to carry out the plan. We haven't spoken in a while...' He was confused and instinctively typed back 'What plan?' He saw the look of confusion in the red head's expression but saw her typing, it was clear that the webcam on his side had been turned off so this way he could be Ruby, he knew this couldn't be a friend of Ruby's, she hadn't smiled once or had a nice expression, then the plan came up, he held his breath and began reading,
'I'm only going to say this once more. You are going to marry Zac. There's no chance of Mia ruining it is there? Anyway, on your honeymoon say you want to go to Colorado, there we can get him into our community and we can find ways of making sure he never returns to London. That Leila girl failed with her attempts of ruining Taylor and Robyn, but we won't make the same mistakes with Zac. And if you do, it'll be the last thing you do. Get in touch after the wedding' and with that she logged off. He couldn't breathe, what had just happened? Ruby was involved in some sort of Zac cult? The idea seemed absurd, she was planning on bringing him back to this cult and leave everyone here, no, he wasn't going to let a psycho ruin his life, he would just have to play her at her own game.
Zac had been ordered to leave the house last night because apparently it was 'unlucky' to see the bride before the wedding, which he thought was ridiculous since the whole thing was a sham anyway to ruin his life but he just went along with it and went to Robyn's and Taylor's. He was woken up by two his two excitable brothers, already looking smart in their tux's, when he went downstairs for his usual morning coffee he saw Mia turned away from him making a cup of tea. She was wearing a lilac silk dress that dropped down her back revealing her adorable venus dimples, he looked down to see her toned calves he'll up by strappy black stiletto's,
"Down boy, you're getting married today" chuckled Isaac making Mia turn round and both look at each other with embarrassed looks. He didn't bother with his coffee and dragged himself upstairs to get changed, he grinned at the prospect of the day ahead, Ruby had her plans and Zac had his.
He was standing at the top of the red carpet in the church with his brothers at one side, he scanned the room to catch Mia's eyes to give her a slight smile. The organ started playing and he saw the a big marshmellow dress standing in the doorway and started slowly walking towards him. She stood next to him and tried to hold his hand, he moved it slightly so it was out of her reach, she looked at him confused but started reciting the vows,
"I Ruby Richardson take you Taylor Hanson to be my lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, till death do us part" Zac wanted to laugh in her face but repeated them too. The priest had said those tense words,
"Does anyone here know a reason for these two not to be wedded, speak now or forever hold your peace." But this time someone did speak,
"Actually, we have a few reasons!" Mia stood up and walked over to Zac grabbing. Ruby just looked at Mia with a shocked and angry face, she looked at Zac for an explanation. You see Zac had been straight on the phone to Mia when he found out Ruby's plann, and even with Mia's persistence for just calling the police straight away they agreed to humiliate her at the wedding and when she tried to fly back to America to have her picture flagged as people to arrest on the border.
"Your friend isn't going to be very happy you failed...Like Leila ey" He saw the realisation smack her on the face. She looked around in a panic,
"I don't know what your talking about. Darling, get away from her and let's carry on" she said trying to force a smile.
"Oh don't play that, you've been playing everyone for the last couple of months. I was on Skype to your red haired friend" he saw her eyes widen when mentioning her,
"Yeah her, your little cult leader and she explained everything to me. Now unless you want me to call the police you better scarper. Quick." And with that she picked her dress up and ran down the isle past all the shocked faces wondering what had just happened. Zac suddenly grabbed Mia's hand and whispered,
"What about one more chance?"
She clasped her hands around his face and kiss him passionately on the lips.
"So there isn't a wedding happening?" Zac looked down at Mia,
"You can get that idea out your head. I. Am. Not marrying you as that slut's leftovers" they both laughed and held eachother. Robyn stood up and announced,
"Well, I need to get Skye christened."

Chapter Twenty One - Constipated Goat

Mia was wondering around her highgate house that she had just recently brought, it was too big for just her alone and she wasn't used to being by herself as Ashley used to be a permanent fixture there. She was trying to keep herself busy to not think too much about last night, she had a wonderful night in with Zac, they had talked about everything like they had never been apart, they had fallen asleep on each other and when she was pretending to be asleep she felt Zac give her a kiss on the forehead before leaving. She couldn't believe he truly loved Ruby. She couldn't help but find her extremely strange, she would always make an excuse to not come with Zac to family gatherings or nights out, neither Robyn or Mia had met her properly, was she hiding something? There was definitely something odd about her and Mia was going to find out or at least tell Zac what she thought.
She arrived at his apartment that he shared with her and stared at the oak finished door, what exactly was she going to say to Zac?...oh your girlfriend is a bit strange, so don't trust her? He would just laugh in her face. She noticed the door slightly ajar and pushed it gently open,
"Hello, Zac?" She shouted inside the empty room. She walked around, nothing was out of place so they hadn't been robbed, she guess the bimbo had forgot to close the door, she reached their bedroom and before she realised she was inside the place where they had sex, her skin crawled as she saw pictures of them and there it was, hanging in a plastic case, the wedding dress. She had a huge urge to just tear that ugly cream dress apart but she figure if she was in here. She might as well look for something that would incriminate her, so she started searching, it started innocently enough with just searching under the bed and then she started rummaging around her wardrobe and something caught her eye, a box, she didn't know what drew her to it but she sat on the floor with it and looked inside and she couldn't believe what she saw, newspaper articles and photos of them, Mia and Robyn when the whole thing was going on with Leila but her investigating. Was cut short,
"Ruby! You left the door open again!l" the sound of Zac's voice made Mia's heart skip a beat,
"Ahh sorry babe' the whiney voice or Ruby replied,
Come to the bedroom, ill make it up to you." Mia frantically shoved everything inside the box and in a panic crawled under the bed.
She saw his trousers and shirt fall metres away from her face, she could see Ruby's boney ankles as she climbed onto the bed,
"Come here big boy" she said trying to sound seductive, Mia just thought she sounded like a whore.
She cringed as she heard kissing noises and started to hear the bed creaking, and the bottom of the bed dipped closer to her head, she clasped her hands around her ears when she heard Ruby moaning, not only because she sounded like a constipated goat but because she was sounding like that with her man. This carried on for am hour before Ruby's screaming orgasm penetrated through her hands and ringed through her head and she hadn't noticed that she had been crying. She saw them getting changed and Ruby kissing Zac's neck,
"I love you." She said in his ears, Mia held her breathe to hear Zac's response, she was sure they could hear the thumping of her heart. But he just kissed her,
"I've got to go see Taylor, ill be back early" and he walked out. Mia grinned that he hadn't said it back, this way she could still work to get him back. Ruby had suddenly got on the phone,
"Hey, yeah its me. Well I can't have the same number can I. Don't worry, I have the plan under control, she stole him once from me but not again. Someone needs to teach those girls a lesson. From what Zac says she's fine and happy. Ill speak to you after the wedding." She spoke in a hushed voice, Zac had left but she was acting suspiciously, who was she talking to? Who were the girls? No. It couldn't be. What if that was Leila and she was talking about her and Robyn? It all made sense, the box, the phone call, she was working for Leila. Ruby left and Mia crawled out and patted herself down, she had to tell Zac, he said he was going to see Taylor. She ran down to her car and drove off quickly down the street.
She knocked on the door and Taylor answered it,
"Where's Zac? Is he here? I need to talk to him" she panted.
"Yeah he's in the kitchen with Skye" he said moving out the way to let her by, Mia hurried through to the kitchen and looked at Taylor standing in the doorway,
"I'll let you talk" he said noticing the urgency and closed the door, Zac looked up from Skye to Mia,
"Where's the fire?" He said jokingly but Mia didn't smile but just put the box in front of him on the table,
"Look inside." Zac opened yhe lid and started taking out the articles and photos and examining them closely,
"What is all this" he said looking confused,
"Its hers! Ruby's, it was in her wardrobe and I..."
"Wait! You were in our room?" He shot,
"Well yes, butn oh whatever, listen, she was on the phone talking about how 'the girls' need to be taught a lesson. Us! She was talking to Leila" by the end Mia had to stop to catch her breathe.
"How did you hear her phone conversation?" Mia realised she had dug herself a hole with that one.
"Erm, I was under the bed today after you left" she said embarrassed and looking at the floor,
"Where, did you, O God Mia! You were there when...Ahh no!" He said piecing together when she was under her bed and realised she must have heard them have sex. Mia looked down in embarrassment and spluttered,
"Erm, yeah that just sorta happened accidentally." "Get out!" He shouted standing to attention,
"I don't want to hear this bullshit! You've always hated Ruby and you can't handle the fact that I'm with her now! I said get out! And I don't want to hear anymore of this!" He continuously shouted without taking any breathes and held the front door open for Mia. Mia sighed a sigh of desperation, looked at Zac who supported a strong, hard, angry expression on his face and she walked out, but she had to get him to understand and believe her, she turned around and be faced with a slammed door only millimetres from her face.

Chapter Twenty - Old times

Since they had become 'parents'. Robyn and Taylor didn't have any free time together, they had stopped going out, talking and they hadn't even had sex because Sky was always in the room with them, since Robyn was paranoid about cot death so had to be with her all the time. Taylor decided to take her away for the day, the Hilton in park lane, that way they could have a day full of spa treatments, go for a nice meal them spend the night together,
"Tay, we can't just leave Skye!" Robyn said,
"Don't be silly, she'll be fine. I called Zac to babysit" he replied, like that would put her mind to rest.
"The guy who has gone crazy for the last year and who is marrying a girl from a three month relationship? Responsible." She snapped back. She knew this is what they needed, and maybe it couldn't hurt to leave her a day.
"Fine, but if I agree you have to let my plan happen?" She questioned, knowing Taylor wouldn't say no.
"What are you up to now." Taylor asked worryingly,
"Nothing much, let me just..." She took out her phone and began to dial,
"Mia! Wanted to ask a massive favour. Me and Tay are going away for a day and night and need you to babysit. Tomorrow. Yeah. Oh great, thank you. Love you bye" she hang up looking incredibly happy with herself. Her plan needed to work, she hoped Zac and Mia would have a night in together with Skye, and realise how much they should be together.
"You shouldn't mess around in this. I don't want my brother hurt again." Tay said gently.
"Don't worry, I have a feeling it will be differently this time,". She replied confidently, well she hoped. Mia had been so unhappy with Ashley and clearly missing Zac and he, well, he just was a complete mess without her.

"Thanks for doing this at such short notice babe". Robyn said to Mia looking at her watch wondering when Zac was coming,
"Why do you keep looking at you watch?" Mia asked curiously and the doorbell rang. DING DONG.
"Because we have to go now that's why." Robyn said rushing to the door, exposing Zac,
"Your personal Marry Poppins is here at your service" Zac said proudly at the door walking in and Mia walking out of the kitchen,
"Now how do I work this formula?" Mia said with a bottle and a tin in the other. Seeing each other they froze and smiled politely.
"Right, we're off! We'll be back early morning!...and Mia, reading the instruction usual helps!" And with that Robyn had pulled Taylor out the door.
"Guess its just you and me then." Zac said finally breaking the ice with a big grin, she was glad he was happy to be here with her. Skye started screaming and they both went over to her cot in the living room. Zac had a look of panic on his face as he looked down at the tiny creature. Mia picked her up carefully and lay her horizontally in both her arms and swayed her back and forth,
"O what's wrong? Are you hungry? No, Robyn has just feed you. You just want attention don't you? Yes you do" Mia squealed in her baby voice, which Zac couldn't help but smile at while watching her. Finally Skye fell asleep in her arms,
"Looks like you're a natural" Zac smiled at her. Mia felt awkward when he said this because she had always planned on having kids with him, she nervously mumbled something and lay Skye down in the cot.
"Right, I'm starving...want to order takeaway? What about...Thai?" Zac loved spicy food and had a child like excitement on his face,
"But you hate spicy food?"
"But you don't. And I'm sure they have something mild. Maybe a rice, or a potatoe.". Mia replied, not really caring if she had to scold her mouth on something that Zac loved. Zac laughed and went over to the phone and started ordering his and trying to quiz the receptionist on what their mildest dish was, when he came back he saw a bowl of popcorn, crisps dips, accompanied by vast amounts of chocolates,
"How long was I gone for?" He asked looking at the table,
"Long enough for me to choose some films as well" holding up The Lord of the Ring trilogy, which was Zac's secret geek pleasure, although he wouldn't admit to anyone apart from Mia, not even his brothers. But he knew Mia hated watching them and would always make an excuse when he would suggest to watch it in the past, but he decided not to say anything and just sat next to Mia grabbing the bowl of popcorn,
"Chip chop, can't have popcorn without a film."

They were half way through the first film when the Thai came, Zac excitedly opened his dish and Mia could smell the spice coming from his and she opened hers. She took a mouthful and her tongue was on fire, her throat felt like she was swallowing lit matches and her eyes were watering and Zac couldn't help but burst into laughter,
"I thought it was the mildest thing on the menu" she said fanning her mouth,
"Stop laughing its not funny...I'm burning up here! She said jokingly but decided to put the dish to one side and stick with the chocolates. Apparently the mildest dish on the menu is the mildest in terms of the rest of the menu! After they had both finished their hysterical laughter they carried on watching the films. Then Skye started crying for her dinner and Mia ordered Zac to make some formula, she started feeding her on the sofa next to Zac,
"She's beautiful" Mia cooed watching Skye feed,
"Yeah she is" Zac agreed, but not about the baby, he hadn't taken his eyes off Mia. Once Mia had burped her she started to nod off in her arms so she laid her back in her cot. The night had started off a tad awkward, they were sitting at other ends of the sofa but gradually shuffled closer and closer and by the third one it was getting cold and Zac could feel Mia shivering, he pulled the blanket from the back of the sofa and pulled her into him with his arm around her.
"I've missed this" she admitted snuggling deeper into his chest.
"You used to hate nights like this". He replied, it was true, she used to be seen everywhere and by everyone and regarded nights in as pointless.
"I guess you don't realise what we want until you've lost it" she said sadly but could feel Zac's grip around her tighten.
"You wanted Ashley, you've still got him and yo...." He was interrupted by an upbrupt Mia,
"We broke up Zac," she admitted,
"I couldn't do it anymore, all I would see when I looked at him was your face, everything he did I would compare him to you and it would cause me to be touchy and edgy around him. We were just arguing all the time." He didn't know to be happy to feel sorry for her, he never likes Ashley and thought Mia could have done better, all he could think of saying was
"I'm sorry." She. Just shrugged and carried on watching the film. He knew that was hard for her, she never liked talking about feelings so he just held her. She was tired now and her lids were slowly descending,
"Don't marry her." She said in a sleepy state before her eyelids shut and she fell asleep and Zac w as left questioning what he should do. He had the love of his life in his arms, she was single, what else could stop then happening now?
Taylor and Robyn had arrived home early the next morning to be the first to see Zac and Mia curled up on the sofa together. Robyn grinned at Taylor and high fived him,
"See, told you." She whispered as she picked up the baby turning with her hands,
"Well she's in one piece" Taylor responded looking at Skye. He couldn't help but look around and think what a perfect family this would make.

Chapter Nineteen - Happy Family?

'So what time is the social worker coming?' Robyn said as she lifted Skye up from her cot.
'She said late afternoon' Taylor said as he aimlessly tapped his fingers on the piano. Robyn could see that Taylor wasn't thrilled that his only daughter was leaving him forever. They thought it best that Skye never knows about her life and she should go grow up learning she was Orphaned at birth.
'Tay?' Robyn said walking up to him slowly. He looked behind him and sighed.
'You wanna spend some time with her before she leaves?' Robyn said bringing the baby towards him more. He stood up slowly and brought out his hands like he was about to hold her, but all of a sudden put them down.
'I..I just can't. I'll be in the basement.' Taylor said taking one last look at Skye knowing he'd never see her again. Robyn watched as Tay scurried off out of sight to hide away. She hated how he could never confront things and remained always a closed book. She thought she would give Skye her last feed so warmed up a bottle of formula.
'You know I wrote a song for you. Its called Blue Skye. Taylor said he'll put it on the album and maybe when your older, you will listen to it and know its us. I don't know, I hope you remember me. Its going to be weird getting back to normal. I almost feel..like you belong with me and Taylor. This weekend has been tough but its nothing we can't handle. I know your daddy is really upset about you going. I am too. I just wish I could see the future and know what your life will be like here, or in some kids home. It sucks not having parents. I basically grew up with seperated parents and it is hard. Hopefully a nice family will foster you and look after you well.' Robyn began to tear up as she spoke to the baby girl who cluelessly looked up at her. DING DONG. It was the social worker here to pick up Skye. The resounding noise of the doorbell echoed in Robyns mind and her heart sank.
'Hey there, I'm Mrs Bloonwood. I'm here to pick up Skye Hanson?' Said the stout middle age woman with a slight tash on her upper lip.
'Right, come on in. I'll just gather all her things for you' Robyn said closing the door behind her.
'And if its okay I'll just ask a few questions'
'Sure' Robyn said as she put all her toys and bibs into a baby bag.
'So you said she was just left at your doorstep?'
'Yeah, her real mother has moved to Mexico and Taylor, her dad and I have no intention of bringing her up. We're not ready' The social worker nodded as if she's heard that excuse a million times.
'Right well that's all I need to know. Oh..by the way I couldn't trouble you for an autograph? My daughter absolutley loves your music' Robyn slightly smiled and took the pen and paper from the womans hand. She signed it and immidiatly looked down on Skye sleeping in her moses cot. Handing back the paper to Mrs Bloonwood she felt the tears start to well as Skye was lifted up and taken away.
'She likes to be read to before she goes to sleep. And don't make her bottle to cold. She just spews it back up. Please take care of her' Robyn exclaimed.
'Don't worry she'll be fine. Take care now' Said the social worker and she walked out the door. That was it.
Robyn stood there breathing heavily and looked around the room. She didn't even have a picture of Skye to look at. All of a sudden something came into Robyn's mind. She believed everything happens for a reason. There was a reason why Leila left Skye in Robyns protection. She didn't just dump her in some american orphanage, she left her with her father and a woman who was to kind hearted to turn a baby away. Robyn couldn't let Skye go.
'WAIT' Robyn shouted down the steps of her flat. The social worker just strapped Skye into the car seat.
'I can't. I can't let you take her.' Robyn unbuckled the child and brought her into her grasp.
'Now Miss Dollan, if I leave her here with you, not only will that breach every rule in the book. But I will be breaking the Law.'
'But her father lives with me. How is that against the law?' Robyn asked as Skye began to stirr from her sleep.
'I have no records to prove that.' The woman said taking back Skye in her possession.
'Please! Don't take her away!' Robyn's tears began to come down her face.
'I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do' the lady finally said with a smile. Robyn took in a deep breath and replied.
'Have you got adoption papers with you?' Mrs Bloonwood stood dead in her tracks and turned slowly to Robyn.
'You want to be come this childs adoptive mother?'
'You heard correct' Robyn answered slyly. The woman sighed and handed Skye over knowing a long process of signing papers was about to occur.
Taylor finally emerged from his hideaway to get a drink. But he had no intention to stay up stairs with Robyn, he was to upset to talk to her about anything. He would have done something to keep Skye, but he felt Robyn would leave him if he had. It was a dilemma and he couldn't make up his mind what meant more to him.
As he opened the door from the basement he looked up to find Robyn standing in the middle of the room with tears in her eyes. In her hands was Skye wide awake and playing with Robyns long hair. Taylor walked towards the two with a questioning look on his face.
'Has the social worker not arrived yet? I swore I heard the doorbell' Taylor said with his hands in his pockets looking at Skye.
'Yeah, she came' Robyn replied.
'Then why is Skye still here' Robyn rolled her tear filled eyes at him and smiled.
'You know me, a big softie at heart. I signed the adoption papers to make me Skye's legal guardian. She's ours babe. All ours.' Robyn said as her smile turned into a grin. Taylor stood in awe of Robyn and clasped his hands to his mouth.
'Your being serious? We can keep her' Taylor said coming closer to Robyn.
'Yeah, we're stuck with her babe' Robyn said handing Skye over to Taylor. He put his arm around Robyn and kissed her forehead. He was so relieved she decided to keep Skye and become her adoptive mother. Now the three of them could play happy families. Or so they thought.

Chapter Eighteen - Fortune cookie

So Taylor and Robyn were parents for a long weekend. It didn't help that their anniversary was on Sunday and they both knew that they will be stuck inside burping and changing Skye all evening. Robyn for some reason knew that she had to get Skye into a routine of feeding, bathing, feeding again and changing and then napping. If Skye didn't get her nap she would keep Taylor and Robyn up all night. Of course Taylor, the sleeping dead that he was, never woke up when Skye cried in the night. Robyn would have to literally roll him of the bed. 'TALOR! Its your turn' Robyn would mumble if Taylor didn't respond to her pushing and nagging. 'Mmmmmmhhhh' Eventually Taylor would wake up and go check on Skye. Robyn would never fall back asleep. She would wait for Taylor to come back and question him on what he did to make her stop crying. She felt so responsible of the little baby that she felt guilty not checking up on Skye everytime she cried. On the Saturday morning Robyn went into Skye's room, which was basically the guestroom with a makeshift cot made from the moses basket she was brought in. Robyn smiled down at Skye sleeping soundly and heavily breathing. She hated to wake her up but if she was going to get her routine down she had to feed her now.
'Shh shh, little Skye.' Robyn said as the baby stirred from her sleep. She didn't cry, just looked up at Robyn and waited for her bottle. Robyn would often talk to Skye whilst feeding her. She talked about Taylor mostly.
'So your daddy, you know the goofy looking guy you see around here, well, he is a famous singer! From the age of 8 he was singing to massive crowds. The funny thing is, he looked like a girl for the first 15 years of his life. But shh, he doesn't like it when people talk about it. It can be our little secret. Anyway, me and Taylor met in Kentish town, and I don't know why I said that. You don't even know where you are now! Ha, well we met in a concert and fell in love. I'll leave out all the gory details but it wasn't a pretty ride. But here we are now, me, taylor and you. But you don't have to stay here long. Just two more days and your daddys snoring won't wake you up anymore. You'll be somewhere better.' Robyn frowned thinking about handing Skye over and instantly pushed it out of her mind.
'Robyn!!! Door!' Taylor yelled from the bathtub and Robyn huffed and made her way to the door.
'Could this be auntie Mia?...and yes it is!!!' Robyn said as she saw a shocked Mia standing in her doorway.
'You weren't joking!' Mia said closing the door behind her.
'No I was being deadly serious.' Robyn said as she sat on the couch rubbing Skye's back. She made sure she had a baby cloth on her shoulder incase Skye decided to chunder all over Taylor's shirt that she was wearing.
'So this is Skye? She's so tiny! And a spitting image of Taylor! Speaking of the duffle coat, where is he?' Mia said looking around.
'Taking a bath. He's going to a promo with the boys later. They should be here..like soon?' Robyn said looking at Mia's expression. She knew that her and Zac weren't on the best of terms, but she also knew that they tried to syncronize their times at Robyns and Taylors flat. Mia simply nodded. She looked down at her hands which clutched her car keys and felt instantly hot. She took of her coat and scarf and held out her hands.
'Let's have a hold then!' She said with a huge grin. Robyn handed Skye over and watched as Mia bounced the baby on her knee.
'Aww she's a little bit TOO gorgeous!' Mia said as she lifted Skye to her empty shoulder and rubbed her back.
'Careful she might throw....' Before Robyn could finish Skye and thrown up her entire breakfast over Mia's shoulder.
'Oh ohhhh.' Mia exclaimed and quickly handed Skye over to Robyn who was laughing hysterically. Mia stood quickly to the kitchen and began laughing herself wiping the sick of her shoulder. Just then the door opened and Zac waltzed into the flat.
'Yeah Zac, don't knock. I'm not walking around naked or anything' Robyn said sarcastically standing up and clutching Skye close to her.
'Now that would be a sight. Oh hello! Is this my baby neice?' Zac said getting a good look at Skye.
'Indeed, this is Taylors baby' Robyn sighed as she handed the little girl over to her uncle. 'Careful, she just threw up all over Mia' Robyn looked back at Mia who was still wiping away at her shirt.
'Yeah well, now she knows what it feels like' Zac said making silly faces at Skye but making it loud enough for Mia to hear.
'Oh let it go' Robyn said taking the baby back and running into the bathroom to tell Tay to hurry up. This left Mia and Zac alone.
'Hey..' Mia said as Zac approached the Island in the middle of the kitched.
'Wassup?' Zac simply said grabbing a freshly made coissant.
'Mmh, this isn't coming out. ROBYN! CAN I WASH THIS SHIRT HERE AND BORROW SOMETHING?' Mia yelled.
'YEAAAAH, BUT NOTHING DESIGNER' Robyn yelled from the other room.
'Oww' Mia made her cute face she did when she knew her plan wasn't going to work. Zac couldn't help but smile at the girls banter. Mia began to unbotton her shirt to put it in the washing machine but stopped.
'Mind if I...?' Zac put up his hands to say it was okay for her to undress infront of him. She took the shirt off and he couldn't help but look at her perferctly curved body. She had gotten a bit of a tan and he could see her tan lines creep up from her tight jeans when she bent down.
'Right, what has Robyn got here' Mia said looking through the piles of clothes left to be put away. She lifted up a blood red shirt with gold buttons and showed it to Zac. He nodded in approval but wished she would remain half naked for longer. She put it on and made her way to the cappocino machine that was initially hers, but Robyn stole it when she moved out.
'Want one?' Mia gestured.
'Please.' Zac said finishing of his coissant and made his way to the fridge for more food.
'Don't you have food at home?' Mia asked with a smirk.
'You know me, always famished' Zac said taking out some bread and butter to make a sandwich.
'How you manage to keep that body I don't know' Mia said raisin her eyebrows as she poured the hot water in the two cups. Zac leaned over her and his face was really close to hers.
'Sex' he said simply as he reached over and picked up a knife for the butter. Mia blushed thinking of Zac having sex with someone else. Probably that bimbo he was engaged too. She handed him his coffee and walked away from him to sit on the couch.
'No Taylor, I do not know where you put your vintage Romones shirt.' Robyn said coming back to were Mia was sitting. 'Just put Skye down for a nap, she should be out for at least 45 minutes. Puking made her tired' Robyn smiled noticing Mia had changed. She noticed how her and Zac were both sipping on hot mugs of coffee. 'Oh yeah, I don't want one or anything' Robyn said walking to the kitchen hoping the water was still hot. She poured herself one and then Isaac walked into the house.
'Hanson's need to learn to knock' Robyn said coming back with her mug.
'Now where's the fun in that' Ike said taking the mug away from Robyn and having it for himself. Robyn huffed and gave up. She quietly showed Isaac his baby neice, he found her adorable and noted how much she looked like his baby daughter, Iris.
'Okay guys I am ready to go!' Taylor said grabbing his car keys.
'After hours of primping' Zac said standing up. He waved goodbye to Robyn and supressed and meaningful smile to Mia which gave her butterflies.
'When will you be home?' Robyn said to Taylor wrapping her arms around his neck.
'I don't know, maybe late. I'll come home asap though. You going to be okay with Skye?' Taylor asked pushing hair out of Robyns face.
'Yeah Mia and I are going to order take out and watch over her. Be like the way we use to baby sit in the old days.' Taylor chuckled and brought his lips to hers.
'You have been so brilliant about this. I knew there was a reason why I love you' he said when she broke away from him.
'I'm sure my legs and outgoing personality has nothing to do with it' she kissed him again but had to let go of him when she heard the blaring of a car horn outside.
'Go before i change my mind looking after Skye.' Taylor reluctantly let go of her and ruffled Mia's hair as he walked past her.
'So..since when am I helping you baby sit' Mia said crossing her arms.
'Since before you were born. Now quit being a pain and choose what take out you want.' Robyn said folding baby growths, looking like a proper mother.
'Chinese, egg fried rice and sweet and sour pork for you. Sorted' said Mia not even bothering to get the menu and called the take away service. After she ordered the girls were getting ready for a really good gossip.
'So? Ashley! Tell me wagwarn with him?' Robyn said as she tucked into her chinese. Mia played with her food for a few seconds before answering.
'He hasn't been coming over lately' she said queitly. Ashley practically lived with Mia, but unofficially.
'No? Where has he been?' Robyn asked confused.
'At Dru's. I kinda kicked him out when he wouldn't come with me to your xmas shindig. Its a stupid fight and I didn't mean for him to not come round again! But we've been texting so that's something.
'And Zac?'
'What about him" Mia quickly snapped.
'Well I don't know. Half a year ago he was singing his love to you and now you barely speak. Its weird.' Robyn said biting down on a prawn cracker.
' Yeah well, he's getting married now. Nothing I can do about it..' Mia said disheartened. Robyn saw the sadness in her best friends face. She didn't even have to question it.
'If you tell him once and for all how you feel, then he might reconsider. You've been a bit crazy about the whole situatuon. It wasn't hard to get back with Taylor.' Robyn said bringing herself into the situation which Mia couldn't stand.
'I'm not you Robyn! I can't just walk in and out of a guys life like nothings happend' Mia snapped.
'Explain?'
'You were the girl in love with Hanson. You knew you would fall for Taylor the moment he laid eyes on you! Me and Zac arnt like that. I walked into his life with no idea who the hell he was and likewise with him. Its just different and I can't explain.' Robyn nodded.
'Still, what you to have...or had was great. He really did love you. So stop making excuses and talk to him about it!' Robyn said taking her fortune cookie and breaking it.
'A new person has waltzed into your life and you have more then accepted it. Keep up the enthusiasm' Robyn read aloud. She sat back at pondered at how that fit her life exactly. She was about to comment but the Skye began to cry.
'Duty calls, open yours' Robyn said walking away leaving Mia with her fortune cookie. She cracked it open and unravvled the tiny scroll of writing.
'Finding it tough to tell someone from your past how you really feel? Maybe actions speak louder then words' Mia sat there and thought hard about what that meant. Maybe speaking to Zac wasn't the answer. She had to prove to him her feelings.

Chapter Seventeen - Blue Skye

--
Humming happily, Robyn was cleaning the London Flat that both her and Taylor lived in. It was the first home they ever bought together and it was just the two of them. Of course Mia and the Hanson brothers were round always. Isaac and Zac would come round in hope for some dinner left overs and Mia would pop round for a chat, always hoping to run into Zac. Most evenings would be just Robyn and Taylor alone though. He would be playing the grand piano they had shipped in all the way from Italy, whilst Robyn would be cooking or writing songs on their massive leather sofa all snuggled up. They argued of course, but what couple doesn't? They wanted to take things slow, so there was no talk of engagements or marriage with them. Robyn knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Taylor, but wanted his next proposal to be when they were both comfortable in their lives and fought through the battle of keeping up a successful relationship. All worries about Leila and other maniac die hard fans were left in LA and Robyn felt safe in her home town away from all the drama. Everything was bliss.
As Robyn was polishing the wooden furniture in her grey trakies and black baby t-shirt she heard her doorbell go. She sighed as she left the world of cleaning products and answered the buzzing door.
'Hello?' She said through the telecom. There was no answer, but she decided to go down the one flight of ould have been the lamp she ordered online. As she walked towards the large glass doors she noticed a large black SUV screeching away from its parking place all the way down to the end of the road until it ubruptly turned the corner into the distance. Robyn opened the door and walked forward, but not without tripping over something on her way out. She huffed as she picked herself up and looked down at what seemed to be a Moses basket. Her eyes widened as the tiny gurgle of a baby's cry came from the tiny basket.
'You've got to be shitting me' Robyn said crouching down and looking at the small angel in the bed.
'Oh come on!!! How..wha? URGH' Robyn said as she lifted the basket and brought it into the flat.
'This can NOT be happening!' She yelled as she stumbled into the living room. Without even realising the volume of her voice she could hear the baby stir from its sleep and making a face like it was about to cry.
'No no no, don't cry! Shhh' she rocked the basket as we'll as she could and reached for the phone. She quickly dialled Taylors mobile off by heart and carried on sushing the baby as it screeched.
'Hey you've reached Taylor Hanson, leave a message.' His voice was so subtle and sweet and Robyn felt mesmorised by his tone.
'Babe! Come home now, its an emergency. And I'm not horny if that's what your thinking. Just come home now or call me!!' Robyn quickly said into the phone. She hung up and sighed as the baby carried on crying. She had never had experiance with babies or kids. She was an only child and loved the fact that she didn't have to share her parents attention with a younger or older sibling. She was spoilt rotten and always got what she wanted, of course when her parents divorced and moved to different places over the world, Robyn had to fend for herself.
'Please stop crying! I'll sing you a song? Huh...hush little baby don't you cry, when Taylor gets home I will punch him in the eye! Heyy, that's funny right?' The baby continued crying and Robyn had no choice but to pick it up. She lifted the tiny creature in her hands, holding it up under its arms and kept it a fair distance away from her.
'Right. This isn't so bad huh? We're good.' She reassured herself as the baby stopped crying. She took a good look at the child and realised it was a girl from the pink and flowery baby growth she was wearing. Her eyes were big and blue, almost as blue as Taylors. Taylor? She looked deep into the childs face and saw Taylor staring back at her. This baby girl was Taylor's child?
'No way' Robyn said out loud almost to shocked to comprehend. She leant over the basket and found a letter in. She had to cradle the baby in her arms to pick up the letter and read it. She sighed as she sat down and took in what the letter had to say.
'Dear Taylor, this is your daughter. I can't look after her because I'm in no position to be a mother. She is your responsibility now. I've moved to New Mexico to live with my fiancee and don't plan on returning anytime soon. I should have told you about the pregnancy but I fell in love with someone else in the process of it. The baby is 2 months old and her birthday is November 6th. I havnt named her yet so what you call her is up to you. Look after her Tay. Good luck. Leila.
'LEILA????' Robyn shouted, making the baby cry even harder. She didn't know what to think. She knew Taylor had a one night stand with her, which she excepted eventually. This was her worst nightmare. She was happy Leila had no intentions of coming back into their lives but leaving the baby with Taylor was almost heartless.
'So, your Taylors baby girl eh?..well your going to be competition for his attention' Robyn said looking at the pretty baby she was holding. There was some formula in the moses basket and Robyn decided to feed the baby. As she rocked and fed the baby she began to see all of Taylor's features in the child. She hated it. Taylor's first child was suppose to be with her.
'Robyn! Robyn? I got your message! What's wrong? Is it Mia? Wher..' Taylor stood dead in his tracks as he saw Robyn sitting on the couch feeding a baby.
'How long was I gone?' Taylor said taking of his messenger bag and smiling. He thought instantly that the baby was just one of the neighbours and Robyn was simply baby sitting. He sat across from her and read the letter that Robyn silently handed to him. His eyes grew wider as he read on and he snapped his head up at Robyn who was looking away from him, clearly angry. He looked down at the gurgling baby in her arms and put his hand to his mouth in a gasp.
'How do we know its even mine!' Taylor said standing up and pacing up and down the room.
'Tay, you don't even have to look at her to realise she's yours. Here, take her?' Robyn said handing the girl over to him. He hesitated as she put the baby in his arms. He held the little girl for a couple of seconds just staring at her and smiled down at her.
'What shall we do?' He whispered bouncing the baby around in his arms.
'I don't know? She's your child, not mine' Robyn said walking away.
'Hey hey hey, Robyn wait. You know this wasn't intentional. I need you now. To help me through this. I'm a dad. And I want you to help.' Taylor asked with sincereity.
'Help? Taylor we are two 21 year olds who live a bizarre life of tours and gigs. We're hardly ever home and if we are we're having sex or relaxing. A baby has no place in our lives right now!' Robyn said crossing her arms.
'Then what do you suggest?' Taylor questioned.
'Adoption' Robyn said harshly. Taylor nodded slowly still looking down at his baby girl.
'Unfortunatly child services is closed on the weekends. Bloody england just stops functioning on its days of rest' Robyn scoffed. 'So we're stuck with her for the whole weekend'
'Mm yeah, we'll be alright' Taylor reassured himself.
'We got to go buy some formula and essentials if we're going to do this' Robyn said grabbing her purse. 'Come on, hold her and I'll drive.'
'No no no, your not driving my jag.' Taylor said grabbing his keys. 'You hold her and I'll drive' he put the baby in Robyns arms and the two made their way to the nearest store. As they sat in silence in the car, Robyn placed the tiny person on her lap and clungop belly she had.
'You know I think we have to give her a name' Robyn said breaking the silence.
'well you always wanted to call your daughter Penelope?' Taylor suggested.
'Yeah MY daughter. This isn't my kid so think..' Robyn rolled her eyes.
'Well I don't know..I guess I've always liked Anna' Taylor admitted.
'We're not naming her Anna! You want people to yawn everytime she says her name' Taylor chuckled at Robyns comment.
'I'm thinking something exsotic and different. You know, her father is a famous singer. Geldof called his kids Pixie and Peach'
'I am not calling my daughter a fruit!' Taylor laughed.
'Okay not a fruit but something else like Leisle. Or Skye.
'I like Skye. Matches her big blue eyes' Taylor said smiling and looking at her face.
'Skye it is..Skye Hanson. It defonatley suits her!' Robyn said smiling down at the new named baby.
'Yeah it does' Taylor whispered.
The two went into the massive tesco's and Taylor went straight to the trollys. He was about to take Skye out of Robyns hands and put her in the baby seat.
'What are you doing? She's too young for that seat!' Robyn said taking the baby back and craddeling her.
'Well I don't know, this is my first baby' Robyn nodded and went to pick up some dummies and bottles. Taylor watched as Robyn waltzed down the aisle picking up random things that he would have never of thought to get. He thought that Robyn was glowing with a child in her hands. She looked so natural and proffessional.
'You know it suits you' Taylor said analysing Robyn.
'What's that?' Robyn questioned whilst deciding to have a pink or yellow bib for Skye.
'A baby..it just makes you think that's how you would have looked with out little girl' Taylor said not noticing the sad look on Robyns face.
'Mm you take her now, my arms are getting tired' Robyn said handing over the little creature to Taylor and taking the trolly away from him. Taylor muttered under his breath 'I'm such a SPAZ'
As Robyn was picking up the right baby food with Taylor standing behind her with Skye, Robyn heard an all too familiar voice coming down the aisle.
'Robyn? Is that you??' A woman shouted from the other end of the aisle. She walked briskly down to were Robyn was and Robyn instantly recognised the woman.
'Paula!!' Robyn exclaimed and accepted the Italian kisses on her cheek. She was Mia's loveable mum and Robyn had spent her teenage years at the Spagnoli home and became relatively close to the family.
'Oh, so this must be the Taylor I hear so much about!' Paula said grabbing Taylor into a kiss on the cheek. She didn't even notice the tiny baby until it began crying.
'Erm Paula, this is...' Robyn hesitated.
'Mia didn't say you had a baby! Oh congratulations!!! I'm going to have words with that girl to give me more information about your hectic celeb lives. Seems just like yesterday you would be getting ready in Mia's room about to go to an awful london club!' Robyn simply smiled and felt no need to deny that the baby was hers.
'Her name is Skye' Taylor said as Paula gestured to hold the baby.
'Oh she is a little too precious!' They spent the next half hour talking about everything going on in their lives. It wasn't until a slight stink came from Skye that Paula let the couple carry on with their shopping. It was nice to see someone from the past. Robyn almost felt normal and safe.
The two made their way back to the car, but not without being stopped by 5 people saying how cute Skye was and that Robyn was a lucky mother to have such a beautiful baby. Robyn acted grateful but cut Taylor death stares as he stood there grinning at her.
'Don't' Robyn said as she got in the car.
'I didn't say anything!' Taylor chuckled.
'Yes but I know what your thinking, now drive. Skye needs a nappy change.' Robyn snapped.
'What the hell is a nappy?' Taylor said taking the car into 3rd gear.
'Your not serious? When a baby poops, were does it go?' Robyn asked in shock.
'Oh a diaper! Well just say diaper!' Taylor said trying not to look like a fool.
' We're in England. We use english words!' The two sat in silence but then broke down into hysterics. It didn't last long though. Robyn still thought about the reality of looking after this baby. She felt like she knew exactly what to do. Like she was made to be a mother. It scared her to think that she might grow attached to Skye

Chapter Sixteen - 6 MONTHS LATER

"Buy why won't you come?" Mia said, getting annoyed at his stubborn attitude. Their relationship had developed into moving in together, which wasn't easy as Mia likes her own space and her own time alone but it was his idea and considering the amount she put him through so she thought she would give it a go. It wasn't going well, the year had been full of arguments, mainly about his jealousy and grudges of the past.
"Because I don't want to see that prik!" He snapped back. She desperately wanted him to be their with her for support.
"Don't be so stupid Ashley! You can't keep avoiding him. He's a part of my life, he's my betfriend's husbands brother for fuck sake and I'm the publicist for their band! Ashley had never dropped the grudge towards Zac. He had neither forgotten nor forgiven.
"I'm not spending Christmas day with them. End of." Robyn and Taylor were having Christmas at their house and Robyn had begged Mia to come, not that she had to be convinced too much, she still loved seeing Zac as he gave her that feeling that Ashley never gave her anymore.
"Well, looks like you're not spending Christmas day with me then. Make up your mind carefully, if you don't come next week then...actually you know what can you just leave! I want your stuff out when I get back" And with that last scream, she stormed out slamming the door behind her. She was sick of his constant moods, attitudes and didn't want him bringing her down with him.
Mia was running late, she had told Robyn she would get to hers two hours before everyone else to help set up. She was running three hours late. She let herself in their house and was greeted with Robyn's sarcasm from the other room,
"That must be the girl who said she would be here five hours ago. Thank you for greeting us with your presence!'' Mia smirked and made her way through to the dinning room with all eyes on her, including Zac's. She took her seat and started digging into the feast that Robyn had prepared, she smiled at seeing her best friend as this domestic goddess but her thoughts were interrupted by a heart renching question,
''So Zac man, looks like you're going to be going up the isle before Tay and Robyn ey?''. Ike said before realising the tension he had created and quickly looked down and started moving his food on his plate around. At this moment Zac and Mia had looked into each others eyes at the same time, their gaze was locked longingly to one another for a couple seconds, in which they both felt the chills in their spine, the sparks and the emotions caused. Zac was the first to break the gaze with an ashamed look,
"Erm, we haven't really talked that much about it." Mia couldn't believe he was getting married, she didn't even know he was seeing anyone and why hadn't Robyn told her? She looked at Robyn who gave a confused look and a shrug, so if she didn't know how long had Zac and this girl been going out for? After this announcement the rest of the meal had consisted of awkward looks and meaningless chit chat.
After the meal, Isaac and Zac were watching tele, robyn was washing the dishes so she decided to take Taylor to another room and quiz him about this.
"Taylor, who is this girl?'' She asked,
"Remember when we foll...I mean had a tour in Brighton. Met her there, nothing happened but they just got back in touch three months ago." Her heart sunk as she thought about when she saw Zac coming out of his SUV with that leggy blonde, her?!?
"Three months! Three...and he's engaged!" She couldn't believe this was the same guy who refused to admit he loved her until she was kidnapped. She was angry, upset and confused, she paced around the room mumbling asking how could he do this? And complaining about her being a gold digging bimbo but Taylor interrupted her,
"Hang on, as much as I would of loved to see my brother happy with someone he loves. You fucked him up! you too have broken up, had sex. and got nearly back together then you end up changing your minds more times than I can recall! So what, now because you can't have him you want him?" Mia was shocked at Taylor's outburst but she knew it was true, she had messed Zac around a lot but couldn't stand to think anyone else being held by him. Taylor walked out in a bit of a huff and was replaced by Zac strolling in,
"O hey, erm Robyn said I should get off my lazy arse and do something" Zac said awkwardly trying not to catch her eye. But Mia couldn't help herself,
"So how come your fiance isn't here, at Christmas?" Zac looked up at her with and tried to put together an answer but he just couldn't explain himself,
"I don't know, we haven't been together long and it was all kinda hectic." He admitted and she found this adorable that he didn't know what to say. Since they were being honest she just went for it.
"Why are you doing this? Its so soon, and anyone woman who is willing to marry someone they've known three months is clearly a gold digger." He stopped stacking the plates and looked up at her with sadness,
"She was there for me after...after you. I went through a really horrible time after you choose Ashley, like a downward spiral...she was got me through it." She couldn't stand to hear this, every admittance was salt in her wounds. She walked over to Zac, close enough to see them sparkling from tears welling up in his eyes. She carefully swepted a tear that was trickling down his cheek with the palm of her hand and stood there while their eyes scanned each other's faces. He looked up and so did Mia to see mistloe dangling above their head, he looked down at her and tilted his head towards Mia, she looked at his lips, hesitated, but not for long and moved slowly to him. They could feel each others breathe as they got closer, their lips lightly came into contact when,
"Oi Zac, how long does it take a person to clear up some plates!" And they had to quickly jump away from each other. It was Robyn and she was pacing up to the dinning room, trying to look busy Zac watches Mia walk out the room from the corner of his eye.
