Mia had decided to make her and Ashley a romantic meal, which actually meant Mia buying a ready made meal and sticking it in the oven. She wouldn't expose him to her awful cooking. She put down the plates of lasagne and they both sat down, getting a bottle of red wine Ashley said to her,
''We're doing a small gig down Brick Lane, it would be nice if you came.'' Watching her fiddling around with the cork opener, trying to figure out how to open the bottle. Ashley huffed and took the bottle, opened it with ease and heavy handily put the bottle in front of Mia. Noticing something was up, she thought better to just go with it,
''Yeah sure I will'' she said with a smile. He watched her pour herself a generous glass of wine.
''Can I ask you something though. I don't want to sound like I'm telling you what to do, but can you limit your drink?'' Mia's shocked face starred back at him, to her it sounded like he thought she had a drinking problem. Sure, she liked to drink when at social events, just to loosen her up, and perhaps she did sometimes go over board. She cringed at the memory of her spewing up her guts on Zac.
''What the fuck is that meant to mean? Actually don't answer that, I know exactly what you meant. You know I think I'm busy that day anyway.'' She sharply replied, even though he hadn't mentioned the date. He stood up and without even saying a word, angrily marched out the apartment, slamming the door behind him. Zac had never been a big fan of Mia's drinking habits either but just accepted it as a tool to enhance her confidence in big crowds. She was so angry at Ashley , at that moment she couldn't care less if she ever saw him again! You convinced? No, nether was she.
She found out where and where the band were playing and decided to play Ashley a surprise visit, entirely sober of course, to give him a chance to apologise. She got to the, what she considered dingy venue two hours into the show so Ashley didn't know she had come. She sat at the back of the crowded room listening to 'Use Ya Head' which they finished with. They went off stage and Mia started to twine her way through the crowds, which wasn't easy to get out of once in. She finally got to the door labelled 'Ashley' and waited for a moment. Why was it her making the first move? He was in the wrong. Then her thoughts stopped when she heard two voices, one she recognised as Ashley but the other was unknown, it wasn't a male voice that was for sure. She swung the door open to find Ashley sat on the settee with a blonde on his lap in her lingerie. She stared speechless at the two in tight embrace making out until they had stopped for air and Ashley looked over.
''How long have you standing there?'' He asked, as if that was the only thing that mattered.
''Long enough to see you sharing more than saliva with that skank!'' She hissed making eye contact with the blonde. Ashley looked at the blonde wondering why she was still sitting on his lap, pushing her roughly off he ran to Mia,
''Its not what you think'' he pleaded the cliche.
''Well it didn't look like you were discussing quantum physics! Unless the explanation was in her mouth. She quickly replied. She could feel that ball in her throat pounding, she couldn't breathe, her eyes were slowly filling up, she had to get out of there before she burst into hysterics. With that she left, not ran, not hurried, just strowled out of there.
