Chapter Six - Caramel Latte

After Mia and Robyn had their 'fight' the two hardly said a word to each other. It was hard to stay mad at one another because they were ever so close. So when Robyn left the flat without telling Mia were she was going, Mia couldn't help but feel lost and worried for her. She felt as though Robyn was throwing everything away meeting up with Taylor. Both had finally gotten to the stage of moving on and had met two great guys who genuinely had feelings for them. Sure, their relationship techniques were different but it worked. Mia wanted to act her age and have a bit of fun. Twenty-one is the age to go all out and not to be married and swamped with children. For some reason, Robyn couldn't see the joy in meaningless sex and relationships that lack commitment. Opposites attract. Sooner or later the girls will go back to normal. Tay and Zac's return into their lives was only a minor speed bump on their journey to finding what they truly want. But boy, it made things complicated.
Robyn had been texting Taylor all morning. Every time her phone went of her heart would skip a beat and a smile would creep up on her face. She had let Tay know that Mia would not be joining them, due to 'work', and it would just be them two for the afternoon. As she drove down the quiet street of St John's Wood she became very light headed realising how close to a confrontation she was. She parked her blood red Volkswagen outside the quaint cafe Rouge and patiently waited for Taylor outside on the Patio. She had ordered herself a White Cafe Mocha and Taylor a Caramel Latte with skimmed milk. 'Oh and make sure it's hot. God help anyone who gives this man a cold coffee' Robyn said to the waitress putting her sunglasses over her brunette hair, taking her fringe back. She turned smiling to herself, realising the sun was being blocked from her view....by a 6ft2 blonde.
'You always knew how I liked my coffee' Taylor said smiling down at Robyn who automatically turned a shade of red.
He took a seat next to her and thanked the waitress who brought their drinks. After mindless chatter and awkward smiles Robyn plucked up her courage and asked Taylor 'what are you doing here Tay?' Her smile turned into a blank stare as she watched his eyes revert away from her.
'I know you told me not to call, write or find you, but we where in London by coincidence..and me and Zac called a few people to find out where you guys were based..and here we are' Taylor said and Robyn gave a sceptical look towards him.
'Is that a lie Jordan Taylor Hanson' she said flicking her hair back and chuckling slightly. Taylor remained silent but couldn't control his smile and nodded. He put his hands over his eyes to hide his embaressed expressions. Robyn watched as Taylors laughs turned into sobs. He looked up at her with a hurt look in his eyes.
'You look...great. Like really great.' He sniffed and composed himself. Robyn's expression didn't change. She wanted so bad to tell him that she still loved him and that it was Leila who made her run. But she knew she couldn't. 'Hayfever?' She asked handing him a napkin. She didn't mean to not sound sympathetic but she knew if she hugged him she wouldn't let him go. Instead she placed her hand over his and rubbed it softly. Taylor could feel the electricity he always did whenever Robyn touched him. He couldn't get over how healthy she looked, even if he did walk in on her doing hardcore drugs. 'Ahem, so..' Taylor said moving his hand away remembering something. 'You and Mia seem to have found yourselves pretty nice looking guys' it hurt Taylor to even say those words. He prayed Robyn would shake her head and say the guy she was with was just a friend. No such luck. He watched as she slowly nodded her head looking away. What the hell, he was going to say it. 'Have you slept with him' her head snapped towards him, shocked. 'No I haven't. Not like it concerns you' This was a touchy subject for Robyn. She never even explained to Mia why she hasn't slept with Ben yet. She had lost her virginity to Taylor and it will always be his. She had only ever slept with Taylor (minus the guy she got back at him for) and she felt the next guy she would sleep with, she would loose total connection to Taylor. She noted how Taylor perked up after she had said she hadn't slept with anyone since him. She also thought, what the hell, 'have you been with anyone since...' She couldn't even finished but he figured out what she meant. He sighed and took a sip of his coffee. 'I went on a really bad spiral after you left. I found myself drinking in sleezy bars and talking to really...unattractive women. Erm..I bumped into Leila one night and we got talking and drinking. I woke up in bed with her the next morning and..yeah, basically we had sex.' Robyn couldn't believe what she was hearing. The girl that drove her away had found her way into Taylors bed. If only he knew she thought to herself. She replied in a stern voice 'so your dateing her?' He quickly replied. 'No no, God no!' He chuckled. 'It was just a one night stand...its still you Robyn. Always, like you said in your last letter to me.' Robyn's heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest. She wanted to runaway and cry. Instead she stood up and calmly put her things in her blood red Hermes and turned to Taylor who was looking up at her. 'I'm sorry Tay, but I really have to go.' She gave him one more look and made her way to the car, dropping a tenner as she went. Taylor noticed and ran quickly to get it for her. 'Robyn, wait!' He shouted. Robyn groaned and turned to him. 'I have nothing more to say...oh thanks.' She said as he handed her the tenner. Their hands held onto eachother a second longer then they should have done. 'We're staying in London for a month.' Taylor said as Robyn sat in her car. She shut the door and drew down the window 'if this is some crazy scheme for you and Zac to get me and Mia back, your wasteing your time.' She started up the car. 'Won't hurt to try Doll face' she turned to him remembering her old nickname and gave him a small smile. She drove away from him and watched him in her rear view mirror. He watched her drive until she turned the corner and was out of sight. He had to get her back. How? He had no idea..but somehow. 'Tomorrow is another day' he said to himself
