Since they had become 'parents'. Robyn and Taylor didn't have any free time together, they had stopped going out, talking and they hadn't even had sex because Sky was always in the room with them, since Robyn was paranoid about cot death so had to be with her all the time. Taylor decided to take her away for the day, the Hilton in park lane, that way they could have a day full of spa treatments, go for a nice meal them spend the night together,
"Tay, we can't just leave Skye!" Robyn said,
"Don't be silly, she'll be fine. I called Zac to babysit" he replied, like that would put her mind to rest.
"The guy who has gone crazy for the last year and who is marrying a girl from a three month relationship? Responsible." She snapped back. She knew this is what they needed, and maybe it couldn't hurt to leave her a day.
"Fine, but if I agree you have to let my plan happen?" She questioned, knowing Taylor wouldn't say no.
"What are you up to now." Taylor asked worryingly,
"Nothing much, let me just..." She took out her phone and began to dial,
"Mia! Wanted to ask a massive favour. Me and Tay are going away for a day and night and need you to babysit. Tomorrow. Yeah. Oh great, thank you. Love you bye" she hang up looking incredibly happy with herself. Her plan needed to work, she hoped Zac and Mia would have a night in together with Skye, and realise how much they should be together.
"You shouldn't mess around in this. I don't want my brother hurt again." Tay said gently.
"Don't worry, I have a feeling it will be differently this time,". She replied confidently, well she hoped. Mia had been so unhappy with Ashley and clearly missing Zac and he, well, he just was a complete mess without her.
"Thanks for doing this at such short notice babe". Robyn said to Mia looking at her watch wondering when Zac was coming,
"Why do you keep looking at you watch?" Mia asked curiously and the doorbell rang. DING DONG.
"Because we have to go now that's why." Robyn said rushing to the door, exposing Zac,
"Your personal Marry Poppins is here at your service" Zac said proudly at the door walking in and Mia walking out of the kitchen,
"Now how do I work this formula?" Mia said with a bottle and a tin in the other. Seeing each other they froze and smiled politely.
"Right, we're off! We'll be back early morning!...and Mia, reading the instruction usual helps!" And with that Robyn had pulled Taylor out the door.
"Guess its just you and me then." Zac said finally breaking the ice with a big grin, she was glad he was happy to be here with her. Skye started screaming and they both went over to her cot in the living room. Zac had a look of panic on his face as he looked down at the tiny creature. Mia picked her up carefully and lay her horizontally in both her arms and swayed her back and forth,
"O what's wrong? Are you hungry? No, Robyn has just feed you. You just want attention don't you? Yes you do" Mia squealed in her baby voice, which Zac couldn't help but smile at while watching her. Finally Skye fell asleep in her arms,
"Looks like you're a natural" Zac smiled at her. Mia felt awkward when he said this because she had always planned on having kids with him, she nervously mumbled something and lay Skye down in the cot.
"Right, I'm starving...want to order takeaway? What about...Thai?" Zac loved spicy food and had a child like excitement on his face,
"But you hate spicy food?"
"But you don't. And I'm sure they have something mild. Maybe a rice, or a potatoe.". Mia replied, not really caring if she had to scold her mouth on something that Zac loved. Zac laughed and went over to the phone and started ordering his and trying to quiz the receptionist on what their mildest dish was, when he came back he saw a bowl of popcorn, crisps dips, accompanied by vast amounts of chocolates,
"How long was I gone for?" He asked looking at the table,
"Long enough for me to choose some films as well" holding up The Lord of the Ring trilogy, which was Zac's secret geek pleasure, although he wouldn't admit to anyone apart from Mia, not even his brothers. But he knew Mia hated watching them and would always make an excuse when he would suggest to watch it in the past, but he decided not to say anything and just sat next to Mia grabbing the bowl of popcorn,
"Chip chop, can't have popcorn without a film."
They were half way through the first film when the Thai came, Zac excitedly opened his dish and Mia could smell the spice coming from his and she opened hers. She took a mouthful and her tongue was on fire, her throat felt like she was swallowing lit matches and her eyes were watering and Zac couldn't help but burst into laughter,
"I thought it was the mildest thing on the menu" she said fanning her mouth,
"Stop laughing its not funny...I'm burning up here! She said jokingly but decided to put the dish to one side and stick with the chocolates. Apparently the mildest dish on the menu is the mildest in terms of the rest of the menu! After they had both finished their hysterical laughter they carried on watching the films. Then Skye started crying for her dinner and Mia ordered Zac to make some formula, she started feeding her on the sofa next to Zac,
"She's beautiful" Mia cooed watching Skye feed,
"Yeah she is" Zac agreed, but not about the baby, he hadn't taken his eyes off Mia. Once Mia had burped her she started to nod off in her arms so she laid her back in her cot. The night had started off a tad awkward, they were sitting at other ends of the sofa but gradually shuffled closer and closer and by the third one it was getting cold and Zac could feel Mia shivering, he pulled the blanket from the back of the sofa and pulled her into him with his arm around her.
"I've missed this" she admitted snuggling deeper into his chest.
"You used to hate nights like this". He replied, it was true, she used to be seen everywhere and by everyone and regarded nights in as pointless.
"I guess you don't realise what we want until you've lost it" she said sadly but could feel Zac's grip around her tighten.
"You wanted Ashley, you've still got him and yo...." He was interrupted by an upbrupt Mia,
"We broke up Zac," she admitted,
"I couldn't do it anymore, all I would see when I looked at him was your face, everything he did I would compare him to you and it would cause me to be touchy and edgy around him. We were just arguing all the time." He didn't know to be happy to feel sorry for her, he never likes Ashley and thought Mia could have done better, all he could think of saying was
"I'm sorry." She. Just shrugged and carried on watching the film. He knew that was hard for her, she never liked talking about feelings so he just held her. She was tired now and her lids were slowly descending,
"Don't marry her." She said in a sleepy state before her eyelids shut and she fell asleep and Zac w as left questioning what he should do. He had the love of his life in his arms, she was single, what else could stop then happening now?
Taylor and Robyn had arrived home early the next morning to be the first to see Zac and Mia curled up on the sofa together. Robyn grinned at Taylor and high fived him,
"See, told you." She whispered as she picked up the baby turning with her hands,
"Well she's in one piece" Taylor responded looking at Skye. He couldn't help but look around and think what a perfect family this would make.
"Tay, we can't just leave Skye!" Robyn said,
